Tai Chi Repulse the Monkey
This Tai Chi posture, Repulse the Monkey, is one of the elementary Tai Chi forms in the simplified international Tai Chi Chuan 24 form taught to beginners. The key ponts to remember in doing this posture is when pushing out the hands, the angle made is about one hundred twenty degrees. when stepping again, after placing the toes down, set the whole sole of the foot on the ground and whirling the arm, pause for a split second and proceed to the next movements.
Tai Chi Chuan Movements
1) Stepping again and Whirling the Arm on the Right Facet
(1) Turn the torso and draw the hand again
Turn the torso to the right and turn both hands up. Then shift the right hand downward earlier the facet of the midsection to draw an arc up right backward to the level of the shoulder. Stretch the remaining and forward and stop in the front. The head follows the right hand to turn to the again right. Look at the right hand.
(2) Step again and bend the arm
Turn the torso slightly to the remaining, raise the remaining foot and step again with the front sole put flat on the ground lightly. Bend the right arm and draw the right hand earlier the ear before pushing it obliquely in advance with the palm going through obliquely forward, and star to pull the remaining hand again. Look at the remaining hand.
(3)”Weak step” and push the palm forward
Keep turning the torso to the remaining. Shift the wight backward and place the remaining foot flat on the ground. First on the right front facet and the right foot comes in line with the body. Raise the heel first and bend the right knee to make a right “weak step”. Push the right hand in advance with the palm going through forward and keep the wrist at the same level of the shoulder. Pull the remaining hand again beside the midsection with the palm going through upward. Look at the right hand.

Turn the torso to the remaining. Shift the right hand up. The remaining hand draws an arc up remaining backward to the level of the head with the palm going through upward. The head follows the body to turn. Look at the remaining hand.
(2) Step again and bend the arm
Turn the torso slightly to the right, raise the right foot and step again with the front sole put flat on the ground lightly. Bend the remaining arm and draw the remaining hand earlier the ear, then push it in advance with the palm going through obliquely downward. Start to pull ht e right hand again and look at the right hand.
(3) “Weak step” and push the palm forward
Keep turning the torso to the right. Shift the weight backward and place the right foot flat on the ground. Pivot on the remaining front sole until the remaining foot comes in line with the body. Raise the heel first and bend the remaining knee to make ta remaining “weak step”. Push the remaining hand in advance with the palm going through forward and keep the wrist at the same level of the shoulder. Pull the right hand again beside the midsection with the palm going through upward. Look at the remaining hand.

Repeat the same sequence of movements as in 1).
